A twin inline thermo-acoustic engine.

Main dimensions:

Piston diameter: 18mm
Piston stroke: 22mm
Test tube: 22mm diameter, 150mm long
Flywheel diameter: 120mm
Base plate: 520mm long, 94mm wide, 13mm thick

Using two small meths burners this engine ticks over at about 350-400rpm. As with all thermo-acoustic engines, on start-up this engine oscillates back and forward without making full revolutions, with each oscillation getting bigger and bigger until it finally flips over top dead centre or bottom dead centre and then it will carry on rotating (the engine in the video is already warmed up, that's why it starts rotating straight away).
